The lawyers of the two murderous fiancés from Avellino are aiming for the Review Court. Each with their own defense strategies and in the meantime the investigators have tracked down and questioned the people who accompanied Giovanni Limata home after the murder of Aldo Gioia.
They are a mother and daughter from Cervinara. They told investigators that the young man had contacted his daughter to join him in Avellino. The girl, the same age as Limata, asked her mother to accompany her to Avellino and together they then met Giovanni, who was not wearing a jacket and did not have blood on his clothes. The young man appeared to them distraught and immediately said that he had attacked Elena's father, but did not know he was dead. The position of the two women is being examined by investigators. They may have in some way facilitated the escape of the young man.

Meanwhile, locked up in prison since last Friday, in solitary confinement, Giovanni Limata and Elena Gioia, the two fiancés who planned the massacre of her family, then killing her father, Aldo Gioia, can now meet their lawyers. The first was Giovanni, the 23-year-old from Cervinara who stabbed his potential father-in-law 14 times, who had fallen asleep on the sofa at home. The lawyer, Mario Villani, spoke at length with the young man who named him last Monday morning, during the validation hearing. That day the two had only been able to exchange a few words. Naturally, his line of defense is expected to be in contrast with that of Elena Gioia, whose lawyer, Vanni Cerino, will be speaking with her this morning. In fact, Giovanni, immediately after being arrested, attributed the planning of the massacre to Elena. According to her family, the girl had completely changed character from the moment she began dating the boy who was almost five years older than her and already had a past of drug problems, a suicide attempt and various episodes of violence, even towards her father.
Elena Gioia's lawyer is also preparing the request to the Review Court to obtain the girl's release from prison. The forensic police officers returned to the apartment on Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Avellino yesterday, by order of the prosecutor. They carried out an inspection of the entire house where the crime was committed last Friday to search for biological traces and reconstruct all the steps, to seek confirmation of the testimonies of Giovanni Limata, Elena Gioia, but also of the victim's wife and other daughter.
