Naples, a vaccination center in the Eav headquarters for transport workers
On the instructions of the President of the Campania Region, Vincenzo De Luca, organized at the headquarters of Eav of Porta Nolana in Naples a vaccination center, “with a capacity to administer hundreds of doses per day, at the service of local public transport workers”. This was announced by the regional councilor of Campania and president of the Transport commission, Luca Cascone, specifying that this will happen “in compliance with the national vaccination plan and the priorities established for the frail and elderly, with the hope that the supplies will be sufficient to speed up the administration to all citizens as much as possible”.
“Once the vaccination campaign for priority subjects is concluded – he explains – this choice, in line with the 'National Protocol for the implementation of company plans aimed at activating extraordinary vaccination points against Sars-CoV-2/Covid-19 in the workplace' signed by the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Health with the social partners, will allow workers in the public transport sector to be vaccinated without slowing down the vaccination planning of the Local Health Authorities, as the center will be autonomous, with staff supported by the company and specifically trained, and it will be possible to vaccinate, in addition to Eav employees, all employees of other transport companies who wish to join the project”.
Cascone thanks the president of Eav, Umberto de Gregorio "who is working to have the structure ready by the end of April, so that the accreditation and registration procedures can be started, while waiting for the vaccine supplies to be sufficient to start this important project that will provide an answer to a segment of workers who are always on the front lines and who throughout the pandemic have continued to carry out their work in contact with many users on a daily basis".
