The financial police of the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Naples have executed a custodial order issued by the Judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Naples North against a Marshal of the Corps serving in a Neapolitan Company and a subject resident in Casoria.
The investigations were started by the same financial police, in relation to some evidence concerning episodes of extortion dating back to 2019 and 2020 to the detriment of some entrepreneurs from the Naples area.
The Guardia di Finanza of the Anti-Corruption Section of the Unit, specialized in investigations into crimes against the Public Administration, under the direction of the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples North, have examined in depth the information collected against the public official under investigation who, according to the reconstruction, in order not to expose himself personally, would have used a different individual to threaten some taxpayers with tax audits that could have resulted in the closure or suspension of their commercial activities.

The threats were aimed at forcing entrepreneurs to give or promise money or other benefits to avoid harmful consequences for their businesses.
Based on the circumstantial evidence reconstructed so far, both suspects were ordered to be held in prison. At the same time, the soldier, also investigated for the crimes of forgery, slander and collusion in smuggling, was immediately suspended from his employment.
