An arrest in Gorizia, two reports in Naples and Padua, over 30 thousand child pornography files and two thousand horror chats seized: this is the result of the 'Dark Web' operation carried out by the postal police.
The State Police of Trieste arrested a 52-year-old man from Gorizia and reported two people, one in Naples and one in Padua, seized cryptocurrencies and tens of thousands of files of child pornography.
The search carried out on the arrested man, who had carefully protected his accounts and systems with techniques to make his presence online anonymous, led to the discovery of more than 30 thousand child pornography files with children, some very young, depicted while being subjected to violence and torture.
From the subsequent analysis of the computer devices, carried out by the investigators of the Postal Police – National Center for the Fight against Online Child Pornography – 2.000 chats containing requests to exchange child pornography material emerged, in which the arrested man offered interlocutors on the dark web catalogues depicting minors who, according to the chats, would be available for live sexual encounters.
A wallet for managing cryptocurrencies was also found, where the proceeds from the sale of multimedia material depicting minors were collected. Investigations are still underway, including international ones, aimed at verifying the actual and real availability of the minors proposed in the catalogues and identifying the other interlocutors of the arrested man.
