San Giorgio a Cremano. A guided tour that retraces the places of the heart, those of childhood and youth, of Massimo Troisi through the streets of the City. It is the latest initiative launched by the FreeCremano collective that will be held Sunday 26 September from 10 am in Piazza Massimo Troisi.
Accompanied by the artist's long-time friend, Alfredo Cozzolino from San Giorgio, the tour will stop at the symbolic places where the famous actor was born, grew up and was culturally and artistically formed. Among the various stops of the "urban trekking" you cannot miss the one at the "Centro Teatro Spazio", the first stage of "La Smorfia", which will open its doors for the guided tour for the occasion.
“Anyone, as a good ambassador of the collective heritage that Massimo left us as a legacy through his art, should know the history and places where the man, even before the artist, grew up and was formed”: declares Danilo Cascone, contact person for FreeCremano.
“Our City – continues the former City Councilor – is fortunate to emanate Massimo’s presence in its streets, in its corners. This is only possible if we are able to recognize the value of those places lived by the artist, keeping the memory alive. From here comes the idea of this guided tour, alternative and unusual compared to those we have organized previously. Initiatives like these are aimed first and foremost at the citizens of San Giorgio, with the primary objective of promoting a local identity through knowledge of their roots.”
And finally, thanks from FreeCremano to those who contributed to the realization of the initiative: "My thanks go to Alfredo Cozzolino on behalf of the group that I am honored to represent. Thanks to him, who made himself available to accompany us on this tour, it will be possible to dive into the cross-section of Massimo's daily life, but above all into the human story of a strong friendship between two boys from the suburbs.
Finally, I would like to thank Vincenzo Borrelli who immediately grasped the spirit of our initiative by opening the doors of his theatre, the Centro Teatro Spazio, to us”.
The tour is free to participate, however telephone reservation is required. All information can be found on the FreeCremano Facebook page.
