“Via Saragat, on the border between the territories of Casavarore and Arzano, has for years been the emblem of an emergency that knows no end. Surrounded by homes and in the shadow of the bridge of the Statale Sannitica, the artery in question has been transformed into a real open-air dump, where anyone has felt free to deposit garbage of all kinds.
A real ecological bomb in the heart of the hinterland north of Naples, close to populated districts, sometimes characterized by fires that infested the surrounding air. After almost two years of battles, carried out by our former councilor and now deputy mayor of Casavatore Elisabetta Puzone, I wanted to bring the matter to the attention of the competent regional offices and today, finally, we have started a cleanup operation that, in a few days, will finally free this road from the poisons and dangerous waste that have characterized it for too many years”.
This was announced by the president of the Innovation and Industry 4.0 Commission and M5S regional councilor Gennaro Saiello, who went to Casavatore this morning to personally follow the waste removal and cleaning operations of the entire area.
"Thanks to the joint commitment with the regional companies responsible, we have launched an operation that will put an end to a real shame that has been there for all to see for too long, without anyone lifting a finger. With teamwork that starts with the continuous reports of local citizens, in the coming days we will restore dignity to the communities that live in that area, following up on the reports of dozens and dozens of residents, who for years have been denouncing, unheard, the state of degradation and the unbreathable air, with possible consequences for everyone's health".
