Countries around the world are working hard to determine if and how many cases of the Omicron Covid-19 variant they have in their territory.
The new variant is frightening and governments are rushing to take cover, even closing borders and strengthening containment measures in order to block the spread of Omicron
This is a new mutation that could be more transmissible. Discovered in South Africa (or for some researchers in Botswana), it has spread and has been detected in several countries including Italy, where it affected a manager who returned from Mozambique and lives in Campania, who has 3 family members also infected.
Below is a list of countries that, according to a map drawn up by CNN, have so far confirmed cases of the Omicron variant:
