Turin. Crane falls from building: two workers dead, pedestrians injured.
Tragedy in via Genova, in Turin where this morning a crane collapsed on which there were three workers, two were pulled out lifeless by the firefighters. Four at the moment the toll of the injured, one of which in very serious conditions transported to the Cto hospital.
According to an initial reconstruction, the three workers involved in the accident at work were on the platform to assemble the arm of the crane that later collapsed. The construction site where the workers were working had been opened for the re-roofing of a seven-story building. Firefighters pulled an injured man from his car that was crushed in the collapse. Two other passers-by were injured.
The firefighters announced this based on an initial reconstruction of the incident. “The crane was already assembled, we can’t understand what happened,” says a firefighter present. The collapse also affected the truck crane used to assemble the larger crane.
Four teams of firefighters were on site. They were engaged, also with USAR teams, in the complex operations of extracting the people who remained trapped.
