Covid, the ISS: “Death rate 17 times higher for unvaccinated”. In the last week the percentage of reinfections has slightly decreased
The age-standardized mortality rate, relative to the population over 12 years of age, in the period from 31/12/2021 to 30/01/2022, for the unvaccinated (114 deaths per 100.000 inhabitants) is approximately six times higher than for those vaccinated with a complete cycle less than 120 days ago (23 deaths per 100.000 inhabitants) and approximately seventeen times higher than for those vaccinated with an additional/booster dose (7 deaths per 100.000 inhabitants).
This is what emerges from the extensive report of the Istituto Superiore di Sanità on “Covid-19: Surveillance, Impact of Infections and Vaccine Efficacy”.
Over the past few weeks, there has been a decrease in the number of reported cases of Covid-19 infection, hospitalizations and admissions to intensive care, while deaths are still increasing.
In the last week, the percentage of Covid-19 reinfections on the total reported cases is 3,1 percent, slightly down from 3,2 percent the previous week.
The percentage of COVID-19 infections reported in the school-age population compared to the rest of the population has remained stable at 31 percent over the past four weeks. In the past week, 20 percent of school-age cases were diagnosed in children under 5, 44 percent in the 5-11 age group, and 36 percent in the 12-19 age group.
