Acerra, caught with a car of illegal origin: a 40-year-old arrested, seriously suspected of the crime of receiving stolen goods
On Thursday morning, during their territorial control service, officers from the Acerra Police Station, while passing through Via Goglia, noticed several parked cars inside the courtyard of a building equipped with a video surveillance system, one of which had no license plate and another parked in the immediate vicinity of the exit gate.
The police officers, shortly after, saw two people leaving the building in the car that was near the gate and stopped them, identifying the driver as MDL, a 40-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, and ascertained that the license plates of the vehicle had been stolen last Wednesday in Torre del Greco and the chassis number of the car had been altered.
Furthermore, the man confirmed that the vehicles parked inside the courtyard were at his disposal; the operators, after checking them, found that two of them had altered chassis numbers and three others had been reported for misappropriation in July, August and December 2021 respectively.
For this reason, the 40-year-old was subjected to police arrest because he was seriously suspected of receiving stolen goods, which was validated yesterday by the Judicial Authority, which ordered the suspect to be placed under house arrest; finally, all the cars were seized, while the license plates of the vehicle on which the man had been caught were returned to the rightful owner.
