Hellosocrate, Kids With The Crown, Riccardo Pasquarella & i Santi Bailor, La Cricca dell'Orma, La Sonda Cassini, Imbucati alla Festa, Zero Kara Trio: these are the steps taken so far by Riccardo Pasquarella, who returns today with the solo EP “Un altro passo”.
“You are like planets in the dark universe”: the album opens with this phrase, and it is precisely in this planetary scenario, which is now the recognizable style of Riccardo Pasquarella, that this work tells us how taking a step can be so natural but also complex, given that to take one the body sets in motion 200 muscles.
Just as forces can coexist in space, so the desire to tell a story of a path that intersects with others from which another may perhaps arise, is to tell life itself and everything that happens in it; just as galaxies, stars and celestial bodies can do.
“Un altro passo” are 5 songs with many questions inside that you don’t necessarily seek an answer to.
“Pure tu”, the first track, opens the album; then comes “In case of emergency break the veil”, the first single released as a preview together with the official video clip shot in collaboration with Taliari Produzioni Video. It is followed by “Nascondi e difendi” and “Non parlerà”, about the dialogue with ourselves and what we cannot understand. The album closes with “Appena in tempo”, as if to tell of something that seemed lost but that at the very last moment was found and held tight.
The album featured two members of Sonda Cassini, Giordano Tricamo and Andrea Colicchia, who played drums and bass on “In case of emergency break the veil” and “Appena in tempo”, while Matteo Agozzino plays drums on “Nascondi e difendi” (and he also does so in the band Imbucati alla festa). Also fundamental was the contribution of Aventino Music, which believed and believes in this path made of steps.
Published by Aventino Music, recorded at Studio 79, mixed and edited by Claudio Scozzafava and mastered by Dario Giuffrida.
The influences of this work are so many and heterogeneous that it is difficult to list them all, as it is to know the names of all 200 muscles needed to take “Another Step”.
