succivoShe is 82 years old, disabled and confined to a wheelchair, yet she cannot walk or stop on the porches of her condominium, not even to shelter from the elements and the scorching sun, because they are continuously occupied by illegally parked cars.
It happens to succivo and the woman's son reported the incident and contacted the Regional Councillor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli:
"I live in a popular park managed by Acer Campania here in Succivo. My mother, being in a wheelchair, does not have the right to walk under the porticos of the building in the shade or sheltered from the elements only because the fact that the porticos are exclusively used for parking has become consolidated over time, despite the friendly request to respect the serious problem of disability, and to put common sense into practice, there was no way to make the tenants see reason, I turned to the mayor, who did not intervene, I turned to Acer to enforce their own regulation that does not allow parking under the porticos.
The only action the institute took was to send a warning to the tenants. After months of phone calls and reports, but to date that warning is not respected and I still report to the institute to enforce it.
My mother is 82 years old and I would like her to live her old age in peace but she feels like the apple of discord in the whole affair, I feel abandoned by the institutions, those that should protect citizens and instead allow these abuses, this arrogance.
We are all good at saying we respect others but then in reality that respect ends up on the front door. One of the explanations of a tenant was: I cannot leave the car in the sun or in the elements. Disability cannot be a reason for argument when protected Constitutional values are at stake.”
"We have reported the issue to Acer and the mayor of Succivo asking for concrete and rapid intervention. Those who do not respect the rights of others, those of the disabled, common spaces and claim non-existent rights by violating rules and laws must be hit hard. It is time to straighten out our society that is really taking a bad turn. We expect resolute interventions." - declared councilor Borrelli.
