Elections 2022, the electoral campaign is in full swing and Giorgia Meloni, by publishing a video showing a woman being raped, has ignited the debate.
"The video published by Meloni on the sexual violence against a Ukrainian woman is a serious act of political scaremongering that demonstrates once again how unfit to govern Giorgia Meloni is. Doing politics with a capital 'P' means spreading ideas, discussing proposals and contents, if Fratelli d'Italia resorts to these tricks it clearly demonstrates how empty its electoral program is.
We strongly condemn what happened in Piacenza and we believe that it is necessary to protect women with facts. The approval during this legislature of the Red Code law, which increases the penalties for various crimes of which women are victims, is proof of this.
Giorgia Meloni had an alternative: she could report the rape without spreading the video, unfortunately she chose propaganda once again. Now she should apologize, first of all to the woman who suffered the rape and who found herself the protagonist of a political campaign against her will, and delete that video that only spreads violence and horror".
