The bishop of Naples, Mimmo Battaglia, writes a letter to priests and invites them to stay with those who suffer.
“The Church is always with those who suffer, those who live in hardship and poverty, with families who are in deep difficulty due to lack of work and economic resources.” The Archbishop of Naples, Don Mimmo Battaglia, wrote this in a letter addressed to the priests of the diocese.
“I ask you to rest – Don Mimmo wrote to the priests – to then resume the pastoral journey and with it the synodal one with the heart turned to the Summit but with the gaze and the hand extended towards the brother and sister who are walking with us. Following Christ and loving as He taught us. This is the essential and necessary thing, the horizon in which we must always find ourselves among ourselves and with the people entrusted to us”.
Father Mimmo Battaglia, Metropolitan Archbishop from Naples, has been in the province of Catanzaro for a few days, at his mother's house, to spend some time with his family resting and praying.
He left after celebrating the Holy Mass in the Cathedral on the Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven, to which we must always turn our gaze - said Don Mimmo - capable of always being on the side of life and being witnesses of hope.
Even on this occasion, the Archbishop addressed a thought of closeness and a wish for serenity to the sick, to lonely people, to the poor and to those who remained in the city without the means for a vacation. At the same time, he addressed words of welcome and wished a pleasant stay to the tourists, both Italian and foreign, who came to admire the beauty of Naples.
