Napoli. “Last October 13, the City Council approved a technical resolution to finance the provision of book coupons for middle and high schools for the 2022/2023 school year.
I am very concerned about the evidence of the submission of a further 4.287 requests to use this service, for various reasons: the choice of the Miur to distribute resources among the Regions based on Istat data relating to 2019 incomes; the identification of only two ISEE bands admitted, one up to 10 thousand euros and the other from 10 thousand to 13 thousand euros.
Added to this is the delay of the municipal administration, which still leads students to be without textbooks, well beyond the deadline of October 15 by which the Campania municipalities had to deliver the vouchers to families in the form of book coupons or vouchers”.
City Councilor Rosario Palumbo wrote in a note: "In this case, it is clear that the Offices have worked overtime, but the same cannot be said for the political side. If this is the vision for the fight against school dropout and youth hardship as well as the perception of equal opportunities in youth policies, I believe a change of direction is urgently needed that includes a termination of administrative procedures before the holiday period, to allow school to start in September with textbooks and canteen service already operational", concludes Palumbo.
