Pozzuoli, “Marefest Vietato non tocco” review presented. The event is dedicated to the memory of Sebastiano Tusa and involves sighted, visually impaired and blind children from two schools.
Workshops, guided tours, meetings and an exhibition of tactile books: this is what the VIII edition of the Marefest “Vietato non tocco” event includes, starting next Monday and presented today during a press conference held at Palazzo Migliaresi in Pozzuoli (Naples).
The event, promoted by Villaggio Letterario, will involve sighted, visually impaired and blind children from the Pergolesi Institute of Arco Felice and the Marconi Institute of Pozzuoli.
The event is dedicated to the memory of Sebastiano Tusa. Founder of the Superintendence of the Sea of the Sicilian Region, who died tragically on the morning of March 10, 2019. The mayor of Pozzuoli Gigi Manzoni was also present at the press conference.
“An event strongly desired by the administration, which also serves to raise awareness in the city and among people regarding the various forms of disability – said the mayor of Pozzuoli – Synergy is important to create solid foundations for integration."
The context in which the events scheduled in the program will take place will also be extraordinary. Among these, the underwater archaeological park of Baia, one of the 26 sites of the Archaeological Park of the Phlegraean Fields directed by Fabio Pagano. The event was conceived and designed by the architect Anna Russolillo and the typhlologist Leonardo Sutera. The collaboration of the Regina Margherita library for the blind was fundamental.
“A project of social integration, also in reverse, which involves many children – said Anna Russolillo, promoter of the event – All with the sea and the Phlegraean Fields as protagonists".
The courses in Braille, tactile art, rediscovery of the five senses, underwater archaeology, with the various workshops dedicated to the underwater archaeological park of Baia, curated by typhlologists, journalists, divers, archaeologists, authorized guides of the park, will create the knowledge base and the inspirational context for the realization of the most important of the works, that is, the creation of illustrated tactile books that will be on display at the Archaeological Museum of Baia (Baia Castle) from 30 October 2022.
