Alongside the rescue efforts, the online solidarity machine was immediately activated after the landslide that hit the island of Ischia on November 26, causing casualties, missing people and the collapse of entire houses.
In just a few hours, on the GoFundMe platform, several social fundraisers were created to help the island population. For example, it is possible to make a donation to Caritas Ischia, the beneficiary indicated in the campaign launched by Serena Silvetti to support the emergency coordination group.
The funds raised by Luca Lamperti and Maria Musella will go to Civil Protection, the Italian Red Cross, and the Municipality of Ischia, while there has been no shortage of initiatives launched by those who, despite living far from the island, have never forgotten those places.
Francesco, for example, lived there for 12 years, while his father still lives in Casamicciola: he has already collected a thousand euros in a few hours. While Ellen, a citizen of Ohio but originally from Ischia, has started a collection from the United States.
