New case of anaphylactic shock in Merate, in the province of Lecco, after the death of the 21-year-old allergic to dairy products who had eaten a vegan tiramisu in Milan.
This time the allergic reaction was triggered by a homemade cream croissant eaten by a 23-year-old student who, after ingesting it, suffered a sudden and violent allergic reaction, requiring her to be urgently transferred to the hospital.
It was only thanks to the timely intervention of the doctors, who administered a dose of adrenaline and intubated her to clear her airways, that the girl managed to save herself.
When she arrived at the San Leopoldo Mandic hospital in Merate, she reconstructs The day, the young woman had a very high heart rate and could not breathe because of her swollen throat. After the operation she recovered quickly, but the doctors recommended that she remain under observation.
The reconstruction provided by those present says that the 23-year-old was at the bar with friends and ordered a cream brioche, as she had often done. Before that day, she had never had allergic reactions of this type. After ingesting the dessert, she immediately felt ill and needed help. After fully recovering, she was discharged without consequences. She is now undergoing allergy tests to understand which ingredient could have triggered the strong reaction.
