On February 4th and 5th a new appointment with the Teatro Area Nord season: national debut of “Pietas”, co-production Grrranit Scène Nationale de Belfort and the Interno5 company.
On Saturday 4 February at 19.00:5 pm and Sunday 18.00 February at 2023:16 pm, dance will be performed at the TAN in the #confiniaperti 5 season with the national premiere of the show “Pietas” directed and choreographed by Antonello Tudisco. The work debuted last January 2019 in France at the Teatro La Cooperative in Belfort, a space for contemporary creation managed by the Teatro Grrranit Scene Nationale in Belfort, also co-producer with Interno XNUMX. “Pietas” is the second stage of a research that began in XNUMX with the show “Act of Mercy”.
It all starts with a question: “What would happen if humanity completely lost the feeling of pity?”
The show is structured as a fragmented parable, the engine of the action is the mysterious cry of a child whose origin the dancers instinctively and in vain seek.
The search will lead them through 3 painful stations that represent as many moments of Pity denied towards 3 characters: a terminally ill mother, a homeless man beaten to death in general indifference, the poet Pier Paolo Pasolini also massacred in circumstances that, in the opinion of many, are still unclear after many years.
In Pietas Tudisco merges the imagery linked to the works of Michelangelo with the poetics of Pasolini, and in particular he is inspired by that “miraculous” and “religious” vision, but far from a confessional approach enunciated by the poet himself in a famous interview. The parable ends with an unexpected fact, a glimmer of light, a sign of hope and regeneration that for a moment drives away the ghosts of guilt, but perhaps only for the ephemeral duration of a show.
The dramaturgy of Pietas is by Domenico Ingenito and Vincenzo Ambrosino, on stage the dancers/performers are Gerardo Di Pietro, Lia Gusein–Zade, Gaetano Montecasino, Lukas Lizama Garrido and Valeria Petroni with the participation of Romeo Massimo Vollero, the music by Chiara Mallozzi, the videos by Loredana Antonelli, the lights by Giuseppe Di Lorenzo, the scenes by Rosita Vallefuoco, the costumes by Gina Oliva and the executive production by Hilenia De falco.
