Raffaele De Luca, lawyer, mayor of Trecase has taken office as extraordinary commissioner to lead theVesuvius National Park Authority following the appointment of the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security.
After meeting the outgoing commissioner Agostino Casillo, for the ritual deliveries, he stopped at the Castello Mediceo of Ottaviano, headquarters of the Park Authority, with the director Stefano Donati to meet the staff and start the first activities.
“It is an honor for me, also as the mayor of one of the municipalities of the Park, to be able to take on this prestigious and strategic role for the territory,” said De Luca. “The National Park, in recent years, has received a new impetus, after the sad seasons of fires and the pandemic, and it will be my duty to ensure that this push continues, in the name of environmental sustainability and the enhancement of our territory.
He then concluded: "I will ensure that the Authority is open to dialogue with all stakeholders and that a synthesis is found for the needs of protection and development. I thank the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, for having trusted me in such an important and stimulating task".
