At the Teatro Mercadante at 21.00 pm, for the first time ever, with a repeat performance the following day at 19 pm, the show will be performed, with Marco Cacciola and Michelangelo Dalisi, which inspired, through the “beats of beauty”, the image of Mimmo Paladino's Festival.

Antonio Latella, one of the most important directors on the international scene, describes his work in a short presentation note: “What if time didn’t exist? What if time was just an invention of men to accept the word end? What if eternal travel was just an eternal ending a little? Two men escape from themselves to meet another self, in the places of the mind, in the places inhabited only by the word and the language. Language as the only possibility to travel in the infinite world, despite our being finite creatures. There is no servant and a master, there is no intellectual and a man of the people, there is only one man who knows how to be both men, both possibilities that life has given us: one through literature that becomes life, the other through life that becomes literature. Being cultured and being wonderfully ignorant. Two sides of the same coin. Two existences that meet in a landfill, where the landfill can only be a great metaphor for that place that is before the beginning of that divine comedy that is life itself, a place where hope is left, because hoping no longer makes sense. I think of a place where the elderly go to read on an electronic board the distance of their last journey, but as if by magic that word will never arrive, because in the end there is no last place, it does not exist and cannot exist, because we are the place of ourselves, we are the first and last station. The greatest gift that has been given to us is the word, from the word we have made language, our eternal journey. The most precious gift we have are the infinite multitudes that the particles (letters of the alphabet) give us by combining in infinite ways. Each letter of the alphabet is a station of our being in the world, each word a forkful of spaghetti with garlic, oil and chili pepper”. Because, as Don Quixote says in Cappuccio's text, “a book is written every time from the beginning when it is read from the beginning with love”.
The proposal of the Osservatorio Section also arouses interest and curiosity. At 20.00:2020 pm at the Teatro Trianon Viviani, “Afànisi” will be performed, a project by the CTRL+ALT+CANC company, a theatre group born in XNUMX from the union of Raimonda Maraviglia, Francesco Roccasecca and Alessandro Paschitto, author and director of the play. A show that aims to ask questions about the desires of the public and the individuals who compose it. “What do you desire? What would you like to see? Forget about who you are, where you are, what time it is, etc. In this moment – you – WHAT DO YOU WANT? Think of the first thing, the first thing that comes to mind. There. This show talks about that. That one. And about many others that you haven’t thought of yet”. Afànisi, from the Greek Aphanisis (disappearance), is a psychoanalytic reference to the lack of something, perhaps just a word, or someone: there is no subject, as Jacques Lacan argued, without, in some way, afànisis of the subject.
