An extortion of 14 thousand euros for having won a house at auction: this is how much an entrepreneur and his son were supposed to pay to three members of the Amato Pagano clan of Melito.
But the two, despite having paid an initial sum of 500 euros as a deposit, did not give up and turned to the judiciary, having the three arrested.
They ended up in prison Enrico Bocchetti, 27 years old, Pasquale Furiano, aged 28, and 50 years old Salvatore Silvestri. The first is also a relative of the boss Cesare PaganoThe operation, coordinated by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate, was conducted by the Carabinieri of the investigative unit of Castello di Cisterna and by agents of the State Police.
The three have to answer to the charges, to varying degrees, of extortion committed and attempted, aggravated by mafia method and the aim of facilitating the hegemonic clan (Amato-Pagano) in the territories of Melito, Mugnano, Casavatore and Arzano.
The extortion attempts allegedly occurred last February. The entrepreneur was approached first by Silvestri, who invited the man to meet the other two accomplices. The meetings allegedly took place in two bars, one in Melito and the other in Sant'Antimo.
"But don't you respect the family? You won the auction and tomorrow morning you have to bring me 14 thousand euros." This was the first request, later reduced to two installments of 5 and 3 euros. Carabinieri and police officers reconstructed the episodes, confirmed by the victims, also thanks to the use of images from surveillance cameras in use in the two premises.
