Last night, the agents of the General Prevention Office, during the territorial control service, on the orders of the Operations Centre, intervened at a commercial establishment in via Mezzocannone for a theft report.
The police officers, arriving on the scene, were approached by an employee who, pointing to a man, said that the man had entered the business asking to borrow his cell phone to make a phone call but, after snatching it from his hands, had fled; therefore, he had chased him and caught up with him but the fugitive had dropped the cell phone.
The operators stopped the man, identifying him as a 30-year-old from Ventimiglia, and confirmed, thanks also to the images from the premises' video surveillance system, that he was responsible for the theft, therefore they reported him for theft by snatching.
