“We are in charge in Pianura, you have to give us the money, you don’t know who you are dealing with, if you want to be calm you have to give us the money”.
This is what the owner of a car registration agency in the neighborhood heard Pianura of Naples by four people (one of whom died) who in October 2022 went to the victim's shop to ask for the "pizzo" on behalf of the Esposito-Marsicano-Calone clan.
It is Charles Pulicati, 28 years old, Francesco Marfella, 20 years old (relative of a member of the clan of the same name to whom he is not linked, however), and of Christian Titas, 29 years old, arrested by the Carabinieri of Napoli-Pianura, at the end of investigations coordinated by the DDA, accused of attempted extortion aggravated because it was perpetrated to benefit an organization Camorra.
The fourth member of the commando was identified in Anthony Gaetano, the 19-year-old fatally wounded in an ambush that took place last March in Mergellina, chalet area of Naples, and died 12 days of agony in hospital.
The extortion, dating back to an afternoon in the early days of October 2022, did not materialize because, at that moment, a patrol of the State Police passed in front of the agency and the boys decided to abandon the insane gesture. The owner who had already reported an extortion attempt in the past, after some hesitation then decided to reveal the fact to the police.
One of the three, according to the story given by the victim to the military, allegedly made the threats armed with a pistol before driving away on the scooters. four (three of whom, together with another accomplice, accused of another attempted extortion to the detriment of a company funeral home) went to the victim on two Honda Sh300 scooters.
The investigating judge of Naples Gianluigi Visco has ordered the precautionary custody in prison for Pulicati, Marfella and Titas, notified yesterday by the Carabinieri.
