After ten days of testing the new operating model on the Vesuvian roads, Eav made an initial assessment of the situation with the mayors of Torre del Greco, Ercolano, Portici and San Giorgio a Cremano.
“Given the requests of the mayors and the needs expressed by the commuters, we are making a first change that foresees that starting from Monday 17th the first five trains in the morning from Sorrento after Torre Annunziata will also stop at Torre del Greco, Ercolano Scavi Vesuvio, Portici Bellavista and San Giorgio a Cremano – we read in a note – in the afternoon, between 16,30pm and 18,30pm, a train from Sorrento will be identified that will make the same stops. stops.
Also for trains from Napoli for Sorrento, a solution will be sought that allows for an early morning train to Sorrento that stops – before Torre Annunziata – at Torre del Greco, Portici Bellavista and San Giorgio a Cremano.
Also in the time slot between nine and ten in the morning there will be a train to Sorrento that stops at Ercolano Scavi to allow access to the archaeological park. Also in the afternoon, in the time slot between 16,30:18,30 and XNUMX:XNUMX there will be a train to Sorrento that also stops at San Giorgio, Portici Bellavista, Ercolano and Torre del Greco. The timetables will be released in the next few hours”.
“We will continue to monitor the experimentation and draw conclusions from its results, taking into account that the model is based on the availability of trains and human resources and that in any case it does not eliminate the structural problems of the Vesuviana which will be resolved only with the new trains and the new railway signalling”, concludes the note.
