Naples. “The plaque in the square that commemorates Marcello Torre, a short distance from the Palace of Justice of Napoli, has been smeared. We can only express our indignation for this act committed by someone who probably ignores the history of the kind mayor".
This is what Don Tonino Palmese, president of the Polis Foundation of the Campania Region, says. “Just a few weeks ago, to remember the sacrifice of Marcello, an innocent victim of the Camorra, we donated his letter-testament to all the mayors of Campania, so that his words guide every act carried out in the name of the community.
Following this act of vandalism – he adds – we are relaunching our activities of memory and commitment in the name of the innocent victims of all crimes, because only knowledge can defeat violence, ignorance and abuse”.
