American Airlines and Gesac announce the introduction of the first nonstop flight from Naples Capodichino International Airport to Philadelphia International Airport, the company's main transatlantic hub.
The new direct flight will be introduced on 6 June 2024 and will operate daily throughout the 2024 summer season, until October 2024.
“We are thrilled to announce American Airlines’ first-ever connection between Southern Italy and the United States,” commented Kyle Mabry, vice president – Operations and Commercial, EMEA and APAC at American Airlines.
“The introduction of the new direct flight from Naples to Philadelphia, American’s main hub on the East Coast, is an integral part of the company’s European network expansion plan for the 2024 summer season, developed to meet passenger demand, which also includes the introduction of new routes to the United States from Copenhagen and Nice.”
“It is a source of pride to have one of the main US airlines in Naples, the result of work aimed at increasing the connectivity of the Neapolitan airport that is based on an offer of 113 destinations, mainly international. Significant and peculiar, for an airport like Naples, is the intercontinental traffic generated by carriers that offer connections to the main hubs, bringing Campania closer to the rest of the world.
With the entry of American Airlines, this market segment, fundamental for the tourist success of our region, is enriched by the prestigious flight to Philadelphia, which is added to the connection to New York", declared Roberto Barbieri, CEO of Gesac.
The Philadelphia hub offers passengers from Italy the opportunity to continue their journey with convenient connecting flights to numerous final destinations in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. At the same time, the Philadelphia hub offers passengers from North America the opportunity to conveniently reach NAPLES and all the famous destinations in Southern Italy.
American Airlines flights between Naples and Philadelphia will be operated by modern Boeing 787-8 aircraft that offer passengers a complete, high-level experience that includes Business Class and Premium Economy seats, state-of-the-art interiors, live TV streaming, high-speed Wi-Fi and hundreds of on-demand movies and TV shows available from each seat.
