A petition is being collected in Naples to request inspections, safety, and redevelopment of the streets near the central station.
Last night, the Naples branch of Noi Moderati met with residents on Via Firenze: in two hours, 250 people signed the petition, which will be presented to the City Council and the Prefecture. Those signing included seniors, shopkeepers, and mothers with children.
"This area of the city has become unlivable. Our presence on the territory is to demonstrate that conferences, debates and discussions are useless. The institutions must take to the streets, make their presence felt. We moderates have gathered the desire for revenge of the good citizens who are the majority in this city and who must not abandon the territory out of desperation", said lawyer Riccardo Guarino, coordinator of Noi moderateti for Naples and the province.
"Naples does not need people sitting behind desks acting as bureaucrats but it needs courageous and visionary people. It needs a strong, impactful strategy because the situation is no longer ordinary - added Guarino -. It takes extraordinary means, ad hoc laws, an army on the streets and the most convinced intervention of those in top positions".
For Guarino: “Those who are unable to face these challenges must step aside.” “The massive participation of people in this signature collection is a clear sign of the will to demand legality. Politics cannot remain inert in the face of this state of abandonment”, remarked the entrepreneur Guido Guida, deputy city coordinator of Noi moderateti.
Also present at the initiative was Paolo Lopomo (coordinator of Noi moderateti per la Municipalità 4): “Our commitment will be constant. And it will also be in other municipalities where there is a strong urgency to respond to widespread degradation and illegality”. The lawyer knows something about it They heal which, a few hours after the commitment in via Firenze to collect signatures to ask for safety and legality, discovered the theft of the scooter, a grey Beverly, parked in via De Gasperi, near the Guardia di Finanza, where his office is located. The lawyer filed a complaint with the Police Headquarters.
“What happened to me is a clear demonstration that in no area of the city can one be at peace. - concluded the lawyer Guarino - not even in the areas where the police headquarters are located. Naples is held hostage by widespread criminality, which does not care about anyone and feels like the master”.
