The Provincial Commands of the Guardia di Finanza of Naples and Salerno have seized 122,8 kilograms of cocaine-type narcotic substance inside a commercial warehouse in San Giorgio a Cremano, arresting a 38-year-old from Cercola in flagrante delicto.
The operation was triggered by the developments of a risk analysis conducted at a central level, corroborated by information-investigative findings, regarding an international drug trafficking in the port of Salerno perpetrated through a cover load (work shoes) coming from Panama and destined for a company with declared headquarters in Milan, inside which were hidden 104 blocks of cocaine.
The observation, control and shadowing services promptly started in the port, supported by the remote sensing of the Air Section of the Naval Air Operations Department of Naples, allowed to monitor, in real time, the operations of collection and delivery of the cargo to its destination and to identify the aforementioned warehouse of San Giorgio a Cremano as the place of delivery of the narcotic.
The seized narcotic has a retail value of approximately 30 million euros.
