Improvvi_dance is a performance in which the unexpected is strongly desired, one exposes oneself completely, one plays with risk, geometries change, the continuity of the present is revealed. In the thirty years of its activity, the Dissonanzen Association has often created opportunities for dialogue and 'interference' between contemporary, ancient and improvised music and contemporary dance.
From Pierrot Lunaire in 1999 to Folìa, for Ensemble in 2019. He also has a conference organized with the Oriental University of Naples entitled Le danze degli altri: la Follia di Spagna and another in preparation for next year.
"To celebrate our first 30 years we wanted an opportunity for famous dancers and young performers to meet around the Instant Composition – explains the co-creator of the project Alessandra Petitti.
A two-day workshop that flows into a performance, in which the body and music meet in the improvised stage action. Since Improvid is someone who is even incapable of admitting or considering unfavorable eventualities, we titled both the workshop and the performance Improvvi_dance. It is a performance in which the unexpected is strongly desired, one exposes oneself totally, one plays with risk, the geometries change, the continuity of the present is revealed”.
“The instant composition questions the pre-existence of the meaning of a theatrical piece, without however denying it. – continues Giacomo Calabrese -. The essence of a piece can be considered as a substrate on which and from which the choreography can emerge and develop during its execution, as well as take different forms each time it is performed. Each piece, in fact, has its own life and identity, given that the continuous transformation of the form is inherent to its essence. Instant composition is a conscious creative act, capable of merging the creator with the surrounding environment into a single whole, but it is also a political act of subversion against the “static nature” of acquired models for its ability to redesign and reintroduce new symbols”.
