There is a scandal in Castellammare, over the decision, not yet official, to have the match scheduled for Sunday evening at the Romeo Menti stadium in Castellammare between Juve Stabia and Taranto, valid for the 31st day of group C of çega Pro, played behind closed doors.
In a press release published on the official website, it reads: “Taranto Football Club 1927 announces that, in accordance with the provisions of the local authorities, the match against Juve Stabia, scheduled for March 11 in Castellammare di Stabia, will be played without spectators”.
The news had been circulating since this morning in the Castellammare circles even if many had a hard time believing it. The, not shareable, decision would be the consequence of the clashes that occurred at the end of the derby against Casertana played precisely at the Romeo Menti stadium.
But on that occasion, it is worth reminding all the police forces and the Prefecture itself, as shown by the videos that have been online for days, that the only ones who carried out the guerrilla warfare were supporters of Castellammare and that the city of Castellammare and the fans were victims and attacked.
It is incomprehensible that a decision of this kind is aimed at penalizing the football team, the club, and humiliating the fans and the city at a particular moment in the competitive season with Juve Stabia playing for direct promotion to Serie B.
