The monumental church of San Potito in Napoli It has regained its ancient splendor after careful renovation and restoration work.
Located in Via Salvatore Tommasi 1, near the National Archaeological Museum of Naples (MANN), the church is today a lively centre of art and culture managed by the cultural and musical association Ad Alta Voce Ets, founded and chaired by maestro Carlo Morelli.
The restoration was presented at a press conference by several personalities.
In 2017, His Eminence Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe entrusted the church to Morelli with the task of carrying out an architectural, structural and artistic restoration project. Morelli enthusiastically took up this challenge, sensing the great potential and charm of this place rich in works of art by artists such as Nicolò De Simone, Giacinto Diano, Luca Giordano, Andrea Vaccaro, Pacecco De Rosa and Domenico Mondo.
Once the renovation and restoration work on the chapel, sacristy and façade was completed, the church of San Potito was transformed into a vibrant cultural centre.
The church is also home to the Choir of the City of Naples, directed by Maestro Morelli. The choir, composed of 16 voices and 7 musicians, has created “That's Napoli Live Show”, an original musical project that offers engaging mash-ups between great classics of Neapolitan songs and international hits.
The next That's Napoli Live Show is scheduled for Thursday, April 25 at 20:XNUMX p.m. Admission is free.
The Ad Alta Voce Ets association organizes various activities:
Training courses on sacred art and architecture for young students
Theatre and sound engineering workshops for inmates and children from disadvantaged backgrounds
A rich calendar of events open to the public, including immersive exhibitions of Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh, classical and contemporary music concerts, and theatrical performances
