Naples, in the Spanish Quarters the first auction of the best Italian urban artists is held. And there is also an original print by Banksy.
Catawiki and INWARD between urban creativity and digital market
Catawiki, a world-renowned and leading online marketplace in Europe, curated by more than 250 experts, and INWARD, the national observatory on urban creativity, collaborate to cross the many potentials of the primary online art market and over twenty years of operational experience in urban creativity.
The heart of the project is an exclusive online auction, which retraces the paths of urban creativity in Italy through some of its most valid protagonists jointly selected by the two parties, most of whom are arriving for the first time on the Dutch platform.
The auction will be published on Catawiki's website on Friday, April 12th and will last ten days, until Monday, April 22nd at 20:00 p.m.
A selection of works by the best Italian urban artists will be presented, such as: Alessio B, Antonio Anc Barbagallo, Carlos Atoche, Corn79, Ligama, Mate, Nais, Neve, Orticanoodles, Fabio Petani, Rosk, Sonda, Truly Design, V3rbo.
Also up for auction is Banksy's “Rodeo Girl” print, signed and dedicated, exceptionally offered here without a reserve price. This is a truly special edition that the British artist created in 2008, in the context of the “Cans Festival” he organized in London; on that occasion, the invited artists, including some Italians, received a copy of the print as a thank you for participating. This incredible presence at auction testifies to the international scope of Italian urban art and its links with the global scene at its highest level.
To launch the auction, on Friday 12 April, at 16:30 pm, at the Sala dei Caratteri of Fondazione FOQUS, in via Portacarrese a Montecalvario 69, in the Spanish quarters of Naples, a talk on urban creativity and the digital market will take place, with the participation of Annalisa Ferraro, artistic curator, Roberto Colantonio, lawyer expert in copyright, and Iabo, a Neapolitan artist with long urban experience, together with representatives of Catawiki and INWARD.
