A citizen of Roccamonfina, in the province of Caserta, caught powering his own home for free, was reported by the Carabinieri for aggravated theft of electricity.

The man, 47 years old and already known to the police, was discovered to have withdrawn electricity from the public grid of the Municipality for a value of more than 6000 euros.
The intervention of Enel technical staff allowed the illegal connection to be identified and the case to be reported to the competent authorities.
Unauthorized use of electricity can cause damage to the network and put the safety of systems and people at risk.
