“The idea of a publication dedicated to confiscated assets – writes Ciro Biondi in the introduction to his book – arises from the need to provide a complete picture of the experience that the community of Quarto is living with the acquisition of real estate belonging to criminals into the municipality's assets, their auction, and their assignment and management by Third Sector entities. It was therefore necessary to provide a narrative that illustrates the reasons and the process that led the State to adopt this tool for fighting the mafia and regenerating the territories".
“The co-edition is a collaboration that aims to highlight everything that happens around Casa Mehari and the mission that characterizes this confiscated property. – explains Rosario Scavetta, publisher – the idea was born because the property quickly became an example for the citizens thanks to the initiatives that developed both in the social and cultural fields”.
All proceeds will be donated to the social and cultural activities of the confiscated property Casa Mehari managed by an a.ts composed of La Bottega dei Semplici Pensieri odv, the Cooperativa Sociale La Quercia Rossa, Artemide Aps and Dialogos Aps. In addition, it is possible to purchase the book on the main online stores.
