In just two days, Caivano will see the opening of the new sports center, an area of over 50 thousand square meters that has been reclaimed by the Army.
Don Maurice Patriciello, parish priest of Caivano known for his tireless fight against the Camorra, declared: ”I confess, I didn’t believe it. Every time I visited that place, which had cost billions of old lire and been reduced to a toxic landfill, my heart bled. I took pictures. I denounced. I filmed. I asked everyone for help. But deep down, I didn’t believe it.”
The official inauguration will take place on May 28 and will be marked by the participation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. "I didn't believe I would see it rise again. I didn't believe 'the miracle' would happen. In Caivano, for almost twenty years, the sports field in via Diaz languished in the same conditions", commented Don Patriciello.
"After days of anger, shouted, swallowed, repressed, the beautiful day finally arrives. Thanks. To God first. And then to those who actually promised and kept their word."
A miracle accomplished
