# Time Travel to Lucrezia D'Alagno's Castle: A Medieval Experience in Somma Vesuviana
Everything is ready! From May 31st to June 2nd, the Lucrezia D'Alagno Castle will transform into a real journey through time, offering visitors a medieval atmosphere with theatrical performances, films, minstrels in costume and much more. The event, organized by ProLoco Vesuvia, promises to immerse participants in a unique experience of history, culture and tradition.
Events and Activities
From May 31st to June 2nd, the Castle will host folk songs, video projections on the history of the Castle, theatrical performances, typical products and street artists. The initiative is designed to involve everyone, from children and young people to families and the elderly. The variety of activities offered guarantees a rich and diversified experience for each visitor.
The Gastronomic Offer
The goodness of cod will be celebrated with the contribution of great chefs who will prepare dishes based on this prized ingredient. During the three evenings, in fact, it will be possible to taste first and second courses of cod, in addition to the famous “cuoppo” and other typical products of the area. Gastronomy will be one of the central elements, allowing visitors to savor the authentic flavors of the local tradition.
Historical and Artistic Representations
The history of the Castle of Lucrezia D'Alagno, which dates back to 1458, will be relived through theatrical performances and films curated by the students of the ITIS “Ettore Majorana” and the Scientific and Classical High School “Evangelista Torricelli”. On the evening of May 31, after dinner, there will be a screening of the “History of the Castle past, present and future”. The artistic program also includes a photographic exhibition by Genny Maggiore entitled “Racconto Somma”.
Atmosphere and Engagement
On June 1st, the historical atmosphere will be made even more vivid thanks to the Minestrelli del Borgo, while on June 2nd, coinciding with the Festa della Repubblica, there will be a grand closing with dinners and tastings, screenings and a theatrical performance. During all three evenings, the students of the “Montessori” institute will take care of the management of the spaces, the reception and the rooms, while numerous information stands will enrich the cultural offer.
Upcoming events
The calendar of events is not limited to this weekend. On June 8, the alleys of the Borgo Antico will become a Traveling Theater of the 400th and 500th centuries, with actors in traditional costumes who will bring the characters of the Castle to life in the streets of the Borgo. Other events will be held on July 5 and during the month of September, with a series of events dedicated to history, music and typical products of the area.

The events are organized by ProLoco Vesuvia with the patronage of the Municipal Administration of Somma Vesuviana, underlining the importance of these initiatives for the enhancement of the cultural and social heritage of the territory.
