New seismic swarm in the night at Campi Flegrei. After days of relative calm the earth shakes again with medium-intensity tremors accompanied by rumblings.
Nothing to worry about but signs that the situation is far from being resolved and calm returning.
The municipality of Pozzuoli issued the following statement around three o'clock this morning: “The Vesuvius Observatory has communicated to this Administration that starting from 01:35 local time on 17.06.2024 (UTC 23:35 on 16.06.2024) a sequence of seismic events is underway in the Campi Flegrei area.
At the time of issue of this press release, 7 preliminary findings have been detected earthquakes with magnitude Md ≥ 0 (7 localized) and maximum magnitude Md=1.5±0.3

Then shortly before 8 this morning a new statement announced the end of the night's seismic swarm.
