Naples. The Santobono pediatric hospital in Naples where the 7 girls injured in the collapse of the Vela Celeste in Scampia are hospitalized is launching an appeal to donate blood.
Article Key Points
“Our children need your help” is the dramatic message from Santobono Pausilipon, who highlights the shortage of O-negative and A-negative blood, which is crucial to stabilizing some of the injured little patients and essential for emergency interventions.
Anyone wishing to donate blood can call the toll-free number 3913207599, from Monday to Friday, between 10:00 and 14:00.
Please note: People who are undergoing drug therapy or who suffer from high or low blood pressure cannot donate blood.
In the meantime, the Italian Red Cross, through the CRI Committees of Naples, Naples North, Maddaloni and Vairano, at the request of the Prefecture and the Regional Department of Civil Protection, has been providing support to the population since yesterday following the structural collapse that occurred at Celestial Sailing from Scampia.
There are 15 volunteers, including a SEP (Psychosocial Service) team, and 3 vehicles employed to support the rescue machine and, above all, provide basic necessities, especially to girls and boys.
The Red Cross is providing support to the displaced
“We are close to the families of the victims and those injured in the collapse at the Vela in Scampia and to those who have been left homeless as a result of what happened – said the President of the CRI, Rosario Valastro – We are available, if necessary, to increase our presence on the territory and help the population to face the fears and consequences of this moment.
I would like to thank the volunteers of the CRI Committees who have taken action and who, even in these hours, are at the side of those who need help, providing everyone with the necessary support".
