Benevento. Giuseppe C., a 58-year-old from Torrecuso and manager of a bar in Benevento, is accused of sexually harassing a 20-year-old employee while working illegally in his establishment.
According to the prosecution, C. groped the girl in the kitchenette of the bar after giving her his weekly salary. Footage from an internal security camera shows the man entering the kitchenette and closing the door.
The girl then left the bar in tears and reported the incident.
C. allegedly recorded a conversation with the girl in which he admits to having put her in a “bad situation.”
The man was arrested in 2021 and placed under house arrest, then released by the Review Court which did not consider the information reliable. charges the girl.
During the hearing of the trial that took place yesterday, the public prosecutor and the civil party's lawyer requested that the man be sent for trial.
The defense requested a dismissal due to insufficient evidence, arguing that the girl was consenting and that C.'s advances were mutual.
The man denied the accusations, saying that the girl had made it all up out of resentment after he refused to raise her salary.
The investigation documents include images from the security camera, the recording of the conversation between C. and the girl, and also the testimony of the worker who worked in the nearby cinema.
Judge Loredana Camerlengo will decide in the next few hours whether to send C. to trial or acquit him.
