“I am for ordinary management on everything, I am for the elimination of commissioners everywhere and in any case”. This is how the president of the Campania Region Vincenzo De Luca responded, explaining to reporters, on the sidelines of the inauguration of the new Padre Annibale di Francia nursing home in Naples, that he is against the appointment of a commissioner for the Campi Flegrei. The governor’s opposition would be motivated by “reasons of transparency, but also of efficiency”.
“With ordinary procedures – he explains – you can do everything without not having a position of full transparency. I will give you two examples. The Genoa bridge was built without commissioner powers. They did it with ordinary procedures in very short times. The Campania Region managed the Universiade, 270 million euros of investment, and we had an extraordinary productivity without particular procedures.
So I am in favor of having ordinary management and getting rid of the commissioners in all matters, in all fields, in all territories."
