A tragedy was averted in Curti, in the province of Caserta, where a fire broke out in a house located in via Nazionale Appia. The episode occurred this night, around 5 in the morning, involving an attic where a Tunisian-Egyptian family lived.
When the Fire Department arrived, the fire had already engulfed much of the furnishings in the rooms. Thanks to their timely intervention, the firefighters were able to contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent structures. The extinguishing operation was rapid and decisive, but the rescue of the eight young occupants was a moment of great tension and professionalism.
At the sight of the flames, six of the boys managed to quickly escape into the street, reaching safety. However, two other young people, driven by panic, sought refuge on the roof of the building. Fire fighters, who arrived promptly with a ladder truck from the Command headquarters, managed to save them, thus avoiding tragic consequences.
The intervention of the firefighters not only allowed all the boys to be saved, but also prevented the fire from causing further damage to the surrounding structures. The local community, awakened by the alarm and the sirens, watched with apprehension the rescue operations, which fortunately ended without victims.
