From August 3 to 23, rail traffic on the Naples-Rome line (via Formia) will undergo significant changes due to extraordinary maintenance and infrastructure enhancement work. The suspension of service will affect the section between the Villa Literno and Minturno stations, and from August 19 to 20 also between Villa Literno and Formia. These interventions will cause cancellations, limitations and deviations of the route for some Intercity and Regional trains.
Trenitalia, the parent company of the FS Italiane Group's Passenger Hub, has arranged a replacement bus service to alleviate the inconvenience to travellers. The Intercity and Intercity Notte trains will be diverted via Cassino, resulting in timetable changes and the elimination of stops at Latina, Monte San Biagio/Terracina, Formia-Gaeta and Aversa.
Some trains will stop in Frosinone and Cassino. Replacement buses will be available between Cassino-Formia and Frosinone-Latina. Regional trains will be diverted to alternative or limited routes at the stations of Villa Literno, Minturno and Formia. A bus service has also been arranged for these trains on the interrupted routes.
It is important to note that bus travel times may be affected by road traffic and the number of seats available may be lower than on rail services. Bicycles and large animals, with the exception of guide dogs for the blind, will not be permitted on buses.
