Vico Equense mourns Mario Castellanno, the young chef and theatre enthusiast who died last night in a car accident, two days after his 23rd birthday.
Around 3:XNUMX this morning he lost control of the scooter he was riding while riding along via Alberi in Meta di Sorrento. He crashed violently into a street lamp post.
The carabinieri and an ambulance were on site and took him transported at the hospital in Sorrento: the 23-year-old died however due to the multiple traumas he suffered.
Mario was working on an event in the hamlet of Montechiaro in Vico Equense, where he lived with his family.
The three-day initiative scheduled for July 19, 20 and 21, in which the boy was collaborating and included in the summer program of the tourist municipality of the Sorrento peninsula, has been postponed due to mourning.
The moving memory of the mayor Peppe Aiello
“Mario, a golden boy, jovial and good. In a few days he should have celebrated his birthday and participated in an event that he had helped to organize. Instead we find ourselves speechless in remembering his smile and his joy of living.
The organizing committee of “Arte & Orto” informed me that the event, scheduled for next July 21, has been canceled. Mario and his family have always been pillars for this event and for all the beautiful things that were organized in the village, which today lost one of its sons”, wrote Peppe Aiello, mayor of the city of Vico Equense.
