A rich and varied program
On September 15, 2024, from 10 am to 23:30 pm, at the Chikù spaces (viale della Resistenza, Scampia), a large live happening will take place that combines music, ecology and civil solidarity. Admission is free. “How Does Chaos Sound?” has a theme of public interest, created thanks to volunteering and the emotional drive of artists and associations sensitive to environmental issues and civil rights.
The Symbolism of Scampia
The Chikù cultural and multiethnic center is a symbolic place for the Scampia neighborhood, one of the most complex and fascinating areas of Naples. The choice of this place takes on a profound meaning, underlining the importance of a social impact that goes beyond words, favoring the rebirth of a community through culture, music and shared action.
The Italian Eco Band
“Come Suona il Caos?” was born from the vision of Maurizio Capone, leader of Capone & BungtBangt, the first Italian eco band that since 1999 plays and sings using instruments created entirely with recycled materials. The aim of the event is to explore and celebrate the bond between human beings and nature, declining the concept of “environment” in both an ecological and social sense.
Artists and Activists on the Front Line
Artists such as Zulù (99 Posse), Franco Ricciardi, Peppe Lanzetta, 'A67, 'O Rom, PeppOh have joined the initiative and will be guests of BungtBangt to support the initiative. The activities will be completed by PodCaos Ediz. Scampia, the podcast curated by Antonio Porcelli who will create video interviews broadcast on social channels.
Ecology and Sustainability
The 2024 edition will have ecology as its central theme, developed through a series of activities ranging from workshops to public debates. Particular attention will be paid to the relationship between sustainability and nomadism, exploring these issues from different perspectives.
Detailed Event Program
The event will be divided into four main moments:
10:30 am “Take Music from the Ground”: A morning dedicated to waste collection in Piazza “Giovanni Paolo II”, with the collaboration of local and national associations and citizens who wish to contribute to environmental protection.
17:00 pm: Visit to Moss, the first Neapolitan eco museum, walk among the stands of the participating associations and workshops on building musical instruments with recycled materials by Maurizio Capone.
20:00 pm: Public debate with contributions from experts and activists, including Father Alex Zanotelli, Prof. Renato Briganti, Roccandrea Iascone and others.
20:30 PM Capone & BungtBangt Concert**: An engaging musical event with the participation of numerous guests. The audience will be invited to play the instruments created during the workshop, creating a collective symphony that expresses the true spirit of “How Does Chaos Sound?”.
Free Performances and Workshops
The event will be enriched by numerous workshops, meetings and performances offered free of charge by over twenty participating associations. Among these, the puppet show “PULCINELLA” from CASA GUARATTELLE by Bruno Leone, DJ set by Kinky Sound, the parade of the “Frente Murguero Campano – M'abbrucia 'o Frente” and many other activities that will involve all participants in an atmosphere of celebration and sharing. With “Come Suona il Caos? 2024”, Maurizio Capone launches a courageous challenge: to bring to light the cultural and social excellence of a territory often described only through negative narratives. The choice of Scampia represents an act of resilience and hope, an invitation to transform the suburbs into an epicenter of cultural and social rebirth.
