Christmas in Piazza Garibaldi: the tree will be lit tomorrow

Naples. Tomorrow, Friday 6 December, at 17:00 pm, Piazza Garibaldi will be lit up with Christmas lights with the lighting of the Christmas tree and the lights. The event will be attended by the city councilor for Health and Green, Vincenzo Santagada.

The tree, 15 meters high, will be visible from every corner of the square and from Corso Umberto, while the lights will extend along Via Nazionale, Corso Garibaldi, Via Firenze, Piazza Salerno to the Centro Direzionale, Via Alessio Mazzocchi, Via Colonel Lahalle, Via Cesare Rosaroll and Via Tribunali.

This initiative is part of the project “La Bella Piazza”, the result of the collaboration between the Councilor for Tourism and Productive Activities, Teresa Armato, and the presidents of the second and fourth Municipalities. The symbolic lighting marks the beginning of the Christmas holidays, transforming Piazza Garibaldi into one of the brightest places in the city, extending the festive atmosphere to the Pendino, Mercato, San Lorenzo and Vicaria neighborhoods.

The program of events from December 8th

From Sunday 8 December, the program “It’s a party in the square! Greetings, hugs, music and entertainment” will start. For three days, from 10:00 to 13:00, the Portineria di Quartiere (Civico 152) will become the center of events and initiatives for all ages:

Sunday 8 December: “Let's do thetree “insieme” offers games and workshops to decorate the Christmas tree and the concierge kiosk, animated by Casba and IF.

Saturday, December 21: “A toast in the square” will see the partners of “La Bella Piazza” gather for a toast of good wishes. On the program, interactive activities by the students of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the initiative “Bring a book” by A Voce Alta, the inauguration of the photographic exhibition “Io Esisto” by Mario Spada, and artistic and musical workshops by Ethnos.

Saturday 4 January: “The Epiphany that the square does not take away” concludes the events with musical entertainment for children and adults by Maurizio Capone, a workshop for decorating Befana stockings by Gomitoli, and a breakdance and graffiti workshop organised by IF.

This program not only celebrates the holidays but also the community, promoting art, culture and citizen participation.
