The educational project “I am anti-violence” was launched at Napoli with the aim of raising awareness among young people about violence through cinema, by proposing the screening of the film “Familia” by Francesco Costabile, which will be attended by the actor Francesco Di Leva.
An Educational Project
This program involves 240 students and 25 teachers, including film workshops and training meetings. Promoted by the IC Sauro Errico Pascoli of Secondigliano in collaboration with the IC Porchiano Bordiga of Ponticelli, Arci Movie, and other local associations, it aims to create a feature film that captures the experiences of young people from the outskirts of Secondigliano and Ponticelli, combining documentary narration with fictional elements.
The Importance of Cinema
Antonio Borrelli of Arci Movie highlights how cinema can be an effective medium to discuss violence with young people. This educational effort aims to bring out and understand violent phenomena through the narrative power of cinema. Piero De Luca, director of the IC Sauro Errico Pascoli, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, underlining its educational potential to promote respect and civic awareness among young people. Colomba Punzo of the IC Porchiano Bordiga also highlighted the role of cinema in exploring youth emotions to address the complexity of violence.
Initiative Supported by Local Partners
Supported by local entities such as Arci Movie, the Association Le Kassandre, Colibrì Film, and the Mediateca “Il Monello”, the initiative aims to give voice to young people and address youth violence with a fresh and non-stereotypical perspective, consolidating cinema as an educational tool for future generations.

the initiative seems interesting and important for young people, but i don't know if cinema is the right medium to deal with violence. there are many ways to raise awareness, i hope it works.
it's true, cinema can bring new perspectives, but we should also consider other forms of communication. the important thing is to reach young people in an effective way.
