Leaving: Italian photography and emigration

Lucas will guide the audience through “Partire: Italian Photography and Emigration,” a visual exploration of the migrations that characterized Italy between the 1960s and 1970s. Lucas’s work has captured the sociocultural transformations of the nation, providing a profound perspective on the journeys made by many Italians in search of new opportunities, both within the country and towards Northern Europe.

A Dialogue on Contemporary Identity

The program will offer a reflection on contemporary social identity and tensions, through Lucas' dialogue with Fugenzi. This meeting represents a precious opportunity for photography enthusiasts and for those who seek to understand the complex historical and cultural dynamics of the country. Details to participate in the event can be obtained by contacting the number 345 467 9142 or by sending an email to assoli@casadelcontemporaneo.it.

A contribution to Neapolitan culture

“Il Sabato della Fotografia”, designed by Pino Miraglia, continues to enhance the cultural scene of Naples, offering food for thought through images. Uliano Lucas’ shots promise to engage the public in a dialogue between historical memory and the present, consolidating the importance of this event in the contemporary cultural panorama.

  1. The event about Uliano Lucas' work seems interesting to me, especially for how he talks about migrations. However, I don't understand if there will be other similar activities in the future and if participation is free or not.
