Naples – A 49-year-old French citizen, wanted by Brazilian authorities for international drug trafficking, was arrested yesterday morning by the State Police. The man was the recipient of an international arrest warrant.
The operation was conducted by agents of the Campania Railway Police Department as part of the “Safe Stations” service. The suspect was identified in Piazza Garibaldi as he tried to evade control, attempting to hide in the crowd.
The agents, with the support of the Campania Crime Prevention Department, stopped and identified him, confirming the pending restrictive measure against him.
After the formal procedures, the 49-year-old was transferred to the prison in Naples, awaiting decisions on possible extradition.

It's amazing how a person can be wanted for so long and then arrested in such a crowded place. The police must have done a good job, but I wonder how he managed to escape before.
