The streets of Naples are at the center of the new volume "LA NAPOLI DEL COMMISSIONE RICCIARDI. VIAGGIO ILLUSTRATO" by Maurizio de Giovanni, available from April 11 in bookstores and comic book stores. The work invites readers to discover the Neapolitan city through the eyes of Commissioner Ricciardi, between historical settings and situations rich in contrasts.
A journey to the symbolic places
The volume offers a special journey into the heart of Naples, among key places that offer unique itineraries. The city is described as “made in layers like an onion”, revealing stories and mysteries from the sumptuous palaces to the modest buildings. Readers will be able to experience a tour of the places frequented by Commissioner Ricciardi.
Illustrations and unpublished narration
Illustrated by Alessandro Nespolino with a screenplay by Sergio Brancato, the volume offers an unpublished story entitled “Hanami”, set in a lesser-known Naples. The illustrated views of the city, similar to vintage postcards, enrich the book, accompanied by a cover with an original illustration by Daniele Bigliardo.
The project is curated by Luca Crovi, who also signs the introduction, in collaboration with the Italian School of Comix, ensuring an accurate and coordinated approach that intends to attract both fans of Inspector Ricciardi and new readers.

I found the article interesting, but I'm not sure if the book is really that fascinating. The description of Naples as 'made in layers' struck me, but I don't know if the illustrations are enough to hold my attention. I hope to see more details.
